Chair
Anne joined the Sojourns Board of Directors in July 2022, bringing extensive experience in higher education and evaluation research. Her passion lies in leadership, planning, and organizational development, having served as an officer and director for numerous nonprofit boards across New England, including The Springfield Food Coop, The New Hampshire Rivers Council, and Gulf of Maine Institute. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Boston College, an MBA in Sustainability from Antioch University, and pursues fitness through tennis, powerlifting, and kettlebell sport.

Inessa Muse
Treasurer
Inessa joined the Sojourns Board in April 2024, bringing strong financial management expertise from the nonprofit sector. She is dedicated to creating long-term financial stability and clear organizational policies for Sojourns. Inessa holds an MBA in Business Administration and Finance and continues to apply her expertise to strengthen mission-driven organizations. In her personal life, she enjoys her gardens, walks, and music.

Jane Smith
Secretary
Joining the Board in July 2022, Jane holds a BS and Master of Science in Natural Health, with over 30 years in clinical laboratory work, advancing from Medical Technologist to Director of Laboratory Compliance and Quality for a large reference lab in New Mexico. Now retired, she has gravitated toward natural health, spirituality, and energy healing, devoting her time to her Intuitive Life Coaching business. Jane's certifications include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Intuitive Life Coaching, Spiritual Kinesiology Hypnotherapy, Akashic Records, Reiki Level II, and is an ordained Minister.

Board Member
Sue joined the Board in February 2025, bringing 35 years of educational experience including 7 years in administration, along with expertise in project management, strategic planning, and human resources. Holding an M.Ed in Administration, she is a passionate advocate for non-profit missions, and she is energized by the opportunity to advance Sojourns' mission. In her personal time, she enjoys being active in the woods, traveling, and reading.

Evan Knowlton
Board Member
Evan Knowlton joined the Board in [month/year], bringing valuable insight from his prior work at Sojourns. A graduate of Springfield College's Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, Evan specializes in whole-person, holistic care that addresses root causes of discomfort. Now operating his own physical therapy practice, his firsthand experience with clinic operations and patient care provides essential perspective to the Board. He lives in Keene, NH with his wife, enjoying golf, snowboarding, and community involvement.

Robert joined the Board in June 2025, bringing over 40 years of experience as a graphic designer, typographer, and creative director. His hybrid background bridges brand strategy, technology, and creative expression through work spanning freelance, design firms, and corporate leadership roles. For the past two decades, he has focused on supporting non-profit organizations. Robert enjoys hiking, abstract painting, music composition, and recording in his personal time.

Erin Rayne joined the Board in August 2025. She is the founder of Good Culture Works, a consulting and coaching practice helping leaders build values-driven cultures. With over 25 years of experience in leadership and organizational development, Erin partners with organizations to strengthen workplace culture and align strategy with purpose. A certified PQ Coachâ„¢, NLP Master Practitioner, and Dare to Lead trained, she believes that when you take great care of people, everything else becomes possible. Erin loves traveling, learning, and connecting with curious, authentic individuals.

Hailee Simonds
Board Member
Hailee Simonds is an accounting and HR manager at a Springfield, VT start-up, joining the Board in August 2025. With over 10 years of bookkeeping experience spanning small start-ups to companies with 75+ employees, she specializes in production and manufacturing sectors and has worked as a contracted bookkeeper. A SHRM Certified Professional since February 2025, Hailee brings exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. She enjoys paddleboarding, hiking with her husband and three dogs, and has been a certified Reiki practitioner for five years.

Staff Representative to the Board
Julia serves as Staff Representative to the Board, bringing a unique perspective from her role in Client Services. Since joining Sojourns in 2014 as Administrative Assistant and transitioning to Client Advocate, Julia has accumulated deep institutional knowledge spanning multiple departments. Her journey from Board Administrator volunteer to staff leadership gives her invaluable insight into both governance and daily operations. Julia's frontline experience with clients, understanding of organizational culture, and long-term commitment to Sojourns' mission make her an essential bridge between staff needs and board decision-making.

Dr. Beth Kamhi serves as Staff Representative to the Board, providing vital connection between clinic operations and governance. With 44 years as a Chiropractic Physician and extensive tenure at Sojourns, Beth brings invaluable institutional knowledge and deep understanding of patient care. Her whole-body approach to wellness, focus on practitioner-patient partnerships, and commitment to effective outcomes align perfectly with Sojourns' mission. Beth's decades of experience, sincere concern for patient welfare, and hands-on clinic perspective make her an essential voice in board decisions and strategic planning.
