Feldenkrais
“Life is not a stable process. Our ability to recover is our greatest quality.” - Moshe Feldenkrais
The Feldenkrais Method is a unique approach to improving physical movement and enhancing self-awareness through gentle sensory explorations of movement. These explorations are pleasurable and relaxing, leading to improved coordination and balance, reduced pain, and an increased sense of well-being.
Developed by physicist Moshe Feldenkrais during the mid-20th century, the method works through neuroplasticity—the brain's capacity to adapt throughout our lives. As slow, mindful movements bring awareness to how different body parts relate, habitual tensions are replaced with more optimal movement patterns. This can greatly reduce or eliminate chronic tension and pain.
People often experience psycho-emotional benefits such as improved mood, reduced anxiety, and restored hope. Feldenkrais is beneficial for anyone and complements other bodywork, therapies, and medical treatments.

We begin with 10-15 minutes of conversation about what's happening in your body, any difficulties you're experiencing, and what you'd like to improve.
The next 35-40 minutes are spent lying fully clothed on a padded table (on your back or side) with pillows and bolsters for comfort. Using gentle hands-on techniques, I guide you through subtle movements—such as moving your toes, supporting vertebrae, slowly rolling your head, or exploring how your shoulders and ribs move with your breath.
During the final 10 minutes, we discuss what differences you notice in your body and explore how to integrate what you've learned into sitting, standing, and walking. Together, we find ways to incorporate these insights functionally into your daily life after you leave.

Testimonials for Lauren’s inpact
Lauren is deeply intuitive and highly skilled. And after just 6 sessions I am pain free. She listened carefully to my story and then spoke to my nervous system via the suggestions of her ‘positionings.’ I would recommend her to anyone.” – Nerissa
